We sell Hatch New Mexico chile in California
We have been selling Hatch chile since the early 70's. It started with bringing chile for family and friends. And it has grown into bringing truck loads of chile for all our friends.
The Fresh Green Chile is only when in Season.
We always start taking orders for the Fresh or Roasted Green Chile on July 15th. The website goes live at 12:05 AM, for the Green Chile. There will only be 3 loads this year, order early, the chile will sell out fast. When you order, you pick the type of chile (Mild, Medium, Hot, Xhot, and XXhot) you want, you pick either Fresh or Roasted Chile. You will choose a pickup date and pickup time when you order. We schedule your time and email you, your exact pickup time, you bring that time confirmation email to pick up your chile.
Arrive at your scheduled Time
When you arrive you get checked in, We do not roast your chile till you are checked In.
Once you roast a sack of chile, you are on a clock to get it either eaten or put in a freezer.
Land in Hatch New Mexico
Our family has land in Hatch, some of the chile comes from our land. You can not grow chile in the same place year after year, chile is hard on the soil, You grow chile one year, then cotton the second year, then alfalfa the third year, then the 4th year you can grow chile again. That is how the cycle works.
When Does the Chile Comes In
The chile comes in around the middle of August, this all depends on the weather in the Hatch Valley of New Mexico.
Sun Dried Red Chile
We can ship the Sun Dried Red Chile (pods and powder) to you. If you want to pickup your chile, we MUST schedule a Pickup Date and Time for PICKUP. Your confirmation email is WRONG. This system is having a problem after an update.
